Board of Finance reviews draft 2026-27 budgets ahead of final rate decision

CT COLEBROOK — Colebrook Board of Finance reviews budgets, seeks school wage reduction. The board considered the Region 7 regional school budget draft of $2,361,698, down 1.54 percent from the prior year, and the Board of Education's $2,506,813 draft for 2026-2027. Chairman Thomas D.

McKeon and members reviewed budget and mill rate options with Board of Education representatives. The board expressed preference for a 3 percent wage increase for school non-certified personnel instead of the proposed 4 percent, aligning with municipal employee raises. Final mill rate determinations will be made at the March 26 meeting.

A Region 7 budget presentation is scheduled for March 18.
