Conservation Commission maps Japanese knotweed threat across Colebrook

CT COLEBROOK — Colebrook Conservation Commission maps 30 Japanese knotweed sites across town roads and state roads. Chair Joyce Hemingson reported the survey found 10 sites on state roads and 20 on town roads, with both the town and state undertaking spraying and cutting. The commission approved an action plan to begin cutting Phragmites at a Route 182-A culvert next week and continue bimonthly to prevent the invasive plant from spreading.
New member Ted Jessup was approved for formal appointment at an upcoming selectmen's meeting.
