Finance board reviews 11.6 percent school budget increase proposal

CT COLEBROOK — Colebrook Board of Finance reviews 11.6 percent school budget increase. Superintendent Robert Gilbert presented the Colebrook Board of Education's 2026-2027 proposed budget of $2,516,488, an increase of $262,247 from the current year. General operating expenses would rise $103,834, or 4.6 percent, with $74,342 attributed to medical insurance costs; special education expenses would increase $158,413, or 7.0 percent.

The board also reviewed audit correspondence from King & King as it continues work on the town's 2026-2027 budget cycle.
