NRRA welcomes five new member towns, picks HRRA for operations

CT COLEBROOK — Regional waste authority expands to nine towns, selects operator. The Northwest Resource Recovery Authority welcomed five new member towns—including Colebrook—and voted unanimously to appoint Henry Tirrell of Norfolk as Secretary and Dave Barger of Canaan/Falls Village as Treasurer. The Board voted 9-0, with Chairman Dan Jerram abstaining, to pursue a partnership with the Housatonic Resource Recovery Authority for operating the Torrington Transfer Station beginning July 1, 2026.

Comprehensive bylaws were also approved and four operational subcommittees established.
