Board hears 2-percent budget proposal with mixed changes

CT COLEBROOK — Colebrook Board of Finance examines budget with two percent growth. First Selectman Bradley Bremer presented the Selectmen's 2025-26 draft budget, showing a two percent overall increase with mixed department results: General Government up 1.7 percent, Public Safety down 1.2 percent, Highway up 2.2 percent, Town Hall down six percent, Community Senior Center up 2.3 percent, Health up one percent, Miscellaneous up 6.9 percent, and Refuse/Recycle up 4.4 percent. The board also reviewed the 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan with a $350,000 net funding request for FY 2026-2027 after accounting for a $35,000 LOCIP Grant.

Board members focused on fine-tuning the education budget and revenue adjustments.
