Colebrook schools seek 11.6 percent budget increase for 2027

CT COLEBROOK — Colebrook schools propose $2.5M budget for 2027 with an 11.6 percent increase. Superintendent Robert Gilbert presented the 2026-2027 spending proposal to the Board of Finance, requesting $262,247 more than current spending for a total of $2,516,488. General operating expenses would increase $103,834 (4.6%) and special education would increase $158,413 (7.0%), with medical insurance accounting for $74,342 of the growth.
The board reviewed line-item details and recent audit information from King & King; the Capital Improvement Plan Committee will finalize funding recommendations next week.
