Conservation Commission Maps Invasive Plants, Approves Control Plans

CT COLEBROOK — Colebrook Conservation Commission maps 30 invasive plant sites, approves removal plans. The survey found 10 Japanese knotweed sites on state roads and 20 on town roads. Chair Joyce Hemingson welcomed new member Ted Jessup pending appointment by First Selectman Brad Bremer.
An August meeting with Bremer and Public Works foreman Bill Jasmin will focus on preventing Japanese knotweed seed spread. The board approved bimonthly phragmites cutting on Route 182-A beginning next week.
