CT COLEBROOK — Northwest Resource Recovery Authority hires strategic advisor for $95,000 annually. The 10-member board voted unanimously on June 24 to recommend that the Northern Highlands Council of Governments executive director hire Rachel Oster of Diversion Solutions as Strategic Advisor, funded by an NHCOG grant. In a separate action with two abstentions, the board authorized $110,000 in equipment purchases for the Torrington Transfer Station, including a $40,000 CAT Payloader and a $39,500 Hitachi Excavator, with delivery targeted for June 30 as the facility transitions to private management by Integrated Waste Services on July 1.
The board also retained the current scale house operator under a proposed NHCOG employment agreement providing $30 per hour for 35 hours per week with benefits.
